Social Justice and Community Connections at Frontier Collegiate

October 15, 2020

Things are rarely quiet at Frontier Collegiate, but since the 2020 school year started it's been extra busy!

Orange Shirt Day

In the last week of September staff and students promoted safe schools and recognized past injustices to Indigenous people, including recognition of Orange Shirt Day on September 30.

Community Connections

Two students in Ms. Richardson's Art class, Lily and Chelsea, presented “thank you" posters to Canadian Tire, Flin Flon. The store Owner, Mr. Soman, generously donated two large disinfectant containers to Frontier Collegiate for cleaning!

Marching for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls

On Friday, Oct. 2nd, staff and students marched in Cranberry Portage for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). The march was organized by two Frontier Collegiate teachers, Ms. Dysart, Cree and Home Economics Teacher and Mr. Taylor, Science Teacher.

It's fantastic seeing our students and staff so engaged in the world around them, connecting with their community and supporting essential social causes.
