2021 P.E.N.T. Virtual Graduation Celebration

​On Friday, July 16, a virtual celebration was held to honour the division's P.E.N.T. graduates. Each of them has demonstrated resiliency and commitment in adapting to all the changes created in the education system during the pandemic. The graduates are to be commended for maintaining their positivity, flexibility, and optimism in reaching their goal of becoming a teacher.   

The virtual celebration began with an opening prayer and an Honour song performed by Rob Apetagon. After the introduction of the five graduating students, Chief Superintendent Klassen and Superintendent Chartrand conveyed congratulations on behalf of the division. John Minshull, the P.E.N.T. Director and Bernice Galvin, the P.E.N.T. Administrative Assistant, also congratulated the graduates on their achievement and acknowledged the recipients of awards. Dwayne Anderson and Hailie Wasnie delivered an address on behalf of the graduating students in which they acknowledged the support they had received from family, friends, school and division staff, and staff at Brandon University.    

Congratulations and best wishes are extended to the 2021 graduating students:

  • Gwen Halkett – Brochet School
  • Hailley Ross – Berens River School
  • April Sinclair - Wanipigow School
  • Hailie Wasnie - San Antonio School

In October, their hard work and commitment will culminate with Brandon University conferring upon them an Integrated Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education Degrees. In addition, the graduates have obtained teaching positions within the division and.

During the virtual celebration, two Frontier students were also recognized by P.E.N.T. staff at Brandon University for their grade point average. Bravos are extended to:

  • P.E.N.T. Graduate with the highest GPA -  Hailie Wasnie, San Antonio School (2021)
  • Highest GPA after 90 credit hours – Nicole Friesen, Gillam School (2021)

Once again, congratulations to the graduating students and the recipients of awards. We wish the graduates continued success in their teaching careers.
